Have been following this and dont really understand what is happening. I am
only aware of a one piece stay - a flat piece bolted to the hub, with two arms
welded to it, that go to the top and rear of the arch. I am not familiar with
the old one, other than i thought it was of similar design, but weaker. My
understanding was the later one had rhe strengthening, James described. It
sounds like your car has some home made ones as none that i am aware of were
made from round bar.
It begs the question why? Icam wondering if the wheels are wrong size/ have an
incorrect offset Shoukd be Et25 alghough i know some are ok wuth Et35, but they
are a lot closer to the stay with that.
May be useful to post photos of your hub and current stays.
When was the car built
regards
Nugel
