I'm surprised that the organisation is taking the "booking" approach - I'm
convinced it isn't helpul and possibly lead to the planned Kitfest at Castle
Coombe being shelved last year. Consider what happens...... they ask for
"bookings" but take no fees or deposit - so what is the aim? to gauge how many
will turn up? It just leads to the club having extra admin (and presumably same
for organisers) If is chucks it down with rain on the day, and nobody has paid
in advance they won't bother turning up! If the weather is great, and
"unexpected" people turn up and are asked to pay some (most?) will be
disgruntled, so either way the organisers stand nothing to gain by trying to
get reservations. Maybe I'm looking at it too simplisticly, but a 'turn up on
the day' policy would seem the least hassle, and get the most attendance,
without added paperwork.

Have just had a look on their website.
It appears that a Club display for up to 10 cars is FREE!! Including access
for Drivers and displayed cars. Passenger price is from £8 to £12.
Track sessions are in 15 minute blocks, at £25 each/car, if pre-booked, £35
if booked on the day. So a budget of £75 would get 3 x 15min sessions, for
example. Passengers cost extra.
I went to one of these a month or so ago, although I didn't do a track
session as I didn't have a suitable car. There were a lot of cars to look
around, not many trade stands, to be fair, but it is a proper circuit, newly
re-surfaced and looks quite fast. There were chicanes in some of the faster
straights though. Noise limits are 100dBa at 50cm from exhaust, 4500rpm.
Would be interested, if anyone else would like to come down. Would be driving
through from Newbury. Not sure what car I will have though.
I guess we would need someone in authority to "supervise"/make the
application. Needs to be in by 12th June latest.
