Indeed - mine is the same. As Jim says, stay with it if it's there. This is a
safety item (to prevent rear wheel lock-up) therefore having the valves cannot
be detrimental, but leaving them out could be.

I think it was one of those things that Quantum changed through production
and depended on which size rear wheel cylinders were used as well.
I would go on the principle that if it has one now then put it back, if it
doesn’t then don’t.
