In some cases its also possible for rain water to get onto the wiper motor
electrics, i believe the route is through the seals on the top of the spindle.
I sealed mine a couple of years sgo and its been fine. My symptons were less
serious, just meant that they would not self park.  Guess youve got plenty to
ho at. A pointer may be if they start working ehen all dried out. At least the
scuttle comes of fairly easily.

Some carbs have the fuel return to the tank and some don't.
I can't remember if the DMTR did or not. I've got a couple but they are
an hours drive away.
Some use the screw in fuel filter and some ...more

Niall,
I can't help with the carb, but the dash lights might still be very
dim. The bulbs in the dash pod have blue (or green?) plastic covers.
With age these darken and become brittle, but start ...more

Thanks Jim, sorry it's the Dmtr I think. I'll take some pics tomorrow if I

Mark Alford <[email protected]>: Apr 16 05:00AM -0700

I was out in the rain yesterday and as you can imagine I had to use my wipers.
All was ok for atleast half an hour, with the wipers either on intermittent or
slow.
For no reason my wipers stopped ...more

The trapesium may need a bit of lubrication, but also the motor could need
a cleanout of the old grease which goes hard. Did mine a couple of years
ago, a strip, clean and regrease.

Make sure nothing is restricting the wiper arms movement. I've managed to
have it hitting my new alarm box and snagging a wire before. Both added
extra load, which I thankfully noticed by the wipers ...more
