Hiya Not sure on the road legal part, but there was someone with a demo of a kit which was electric - had a motor attached to a gearbox, and lead acid batteries in the front bay area. There was no body attached - it was just a space frame chassis.
I cannot remember what the company was called - but it was tucked in one of the areas between the halls, and was next to a stand showing car seats and electronic speedos. I hope this helps.
