It depended on the donor car spec, the lower spec cars didn’t have one. If yours is XR2 based then it should have one really.
I tried to get past a MOT on a XR2 that had failed on the anti roll drops links by taking the roll bar off but was told that as the car originally had one it had to be fitted.
