It is said that Cam belts are vulnerable to age (counted in years and / or
mileage covered) and also to short-journey overall usage. SO....when I started
with my H4 in 2009, I had the belt changed by my local garage. (Also a 1.6
Zetec "silvertop". The task was done with the engine in situ, I was told that
it was very tight, but they managed. I hope this helps. Bill

Does anyone know if you can change the cambelt on a 1.6 zetec engine in situ
in an H4? It all looks very close to the framework. Any advice would be most
welcome.Mine was fitted in 2000 before installation and is now 17 years old,
but not done a large mileage circa 30,000 miles!Thank you in anticipation. Ron
