My 2+2 had this issue and the culprit was the centre location was generic and 
needed a plastic centre to fit the Ford  location register.
Originally when I bought my RS turbo engine 2+2 it was a little pig with torque 
steer that was so bad it was difficult to avoid hitting the car you were 
overtaking. I fitted standard springs from a 1.4 and rears from an 1100 plus 
Spax adjustables and now its a pussycat and great to throw around Abingdon 
track (last week 22 06 2018) It goes where it is pointed and grips well.
