My partner and I went to the Harte and Magpies in Beaconsfield on 10/07 to have a look at the British Classic and American Car Club event that takes place on second Tuesday of the month during the summer. We rolled up at about 8:00pm and I almost fell out of the car laughing at the reaction from the folks standing around the car park: "What the...", "Is it coming in here?" etc. The landlord, great chap, greeted us outside of our normal lunchtime context and commented on the fact I finally managed to get the car there! He asked a couple of of questions regarding the "British Classic-ness" of the car and let us through.
We made our way through the Corvettes, Mustangs, muscle-cars, pre-1963 Ford Populars, MK1 and 2 escorts, Triumph Vitesses and a load of others I can't remember and parked up towards the back of the overflow area. We had a mooch around the members cars and chatted to a few people but also noted a steady flow of people wandering over to the Quantum. One chap recognised the origins on the car straight away, recognising the XR2 interior as he had had one before. An interesting conversation. Photographs were taken and I have just seen them posted on a Facebook group called "London Outlaws - We are a group of car and bike enthusiasts who meet up and attend car and bike events. We love all petrol and diesel vehicles". I noted in the photo gallery that there was a car that looked like an Xtreme but it had gone by the time we got there.
