You're right Ian, Mark's were the original type ones, basically some flattened tube, which were prone to breaking. They upgraded around 2000 to a tube with a vertical tube piece welded on the end. I didn't like the look of the cable coming out, so made some where the cable runs inside the bracket - I did an article in Quantum Mechanics several years back.
