Hi Mathew. My 2+2 Yellow going the same way after 20 years. Heard it said that a respray will last 10 years but I am sure many make them last longer so 20 gel coat is about it. Wondering what to do with it mayself and looked at home paint systems.
A professional respray can cost £3-4K. Much of the cost is time and the prep required is massive. So some have done a lot of that themselves. But the prep has to be vey good for a modern gloss finish where every little thing will show through. How perfectionist are you?
