So I've tried
First clean all contacts. No change!Take one wire plug off. No change!Take
the other wire off. No Change!swop the wires round. No change.
and yes if you turn on the ignition the gauge does go to max.
I was confused to start with, now I"ve ordered a replacement So hope that fixes
this.

seen on ebay simular ones. 80 psi or 100 psi. The gauge in the car is 90 psi
max. Do I get the 100 psi?
