Your version seems a little better, I agree.  However, it doesn't differ
much enough to justify making it an alternative.  So, "improve on this"
and I'll replace current texture with your version.  I guess you know
that you can set whatever texture you like from the Preference dialog,
right?

I had a thought about implementing something like a gamma adjuster in
the Preferences dialog, but then discovered it would require nasty
changes in the code (i.e. GTK+ won't allow modifying widget background
in such a way without hacks).  I still think it is a good idea, but not
worth the required effort.

BTW, I decided to postpone some planned improvements in the SGF parser
and release 0.1.7 now/in a few hours.
