I know that Quartz Composer.app doesn't let you hear any audio in a
video being played back (that has an audio track) **IN** the
composer application itself.
But... when you play the composition back in your actual app, you
**can** hear the audio track of the playing video. This I have
tested. Works great.
I think I should probably now just concentrate on HOW to feed
buffered (in-memory) video data into a quicktime movie much like a
streaming movie would be played. Then figure out how to add the
audio track to the movie from an in-memory audio buffer. And
finally... feed the final a/v-complete qtmovie into my quartz
composition. Obviously, for questions about the quicktime-specific
stuff I'll need to write to the quicktime list.
But assuming I get all that going on.... how will i get the final
qtmovie object (also residing in memory; not on disk) into my
quartz composition?
The only way i can see to get movie data into a quartz composition
is using the "Image with Movie" patch, but that takes a path to an
actual file as its input parameter. Also there's the "Video Input"
patch, but its only input options are from hardware video sources
like webcams and such.
So how would I get an in-memory (non-file) qtmovie into a quartz
composition?
Thanks.
