ok I've since found out what the unsafe elements are and what they indicate (they indicate objects that won't run as web objects or in quicktime) - most probably not associated with my problem

Does anyone know of another OSC receive object? I've seen mention of a japanese implementation for the tiger release of QC on the list but I cant find it on the web

Hi All,

I have a patch that receives OSC messages (using the apple osc receive object) and controls some sphere locations. It was working fine with the beta release of leopard but the final release broke it. I've traced the problem to the osc message rate which was working fine at 256hz (excessive I know) but now at that rate the OSC receive object knows its receiving objects (received signal flag) but nothing comes through. If I slow my messaging rate down to 10hz everything seems to come through but if I speed it up to 60hz then every now and then (1 in 10 times) I get 0 values. If i turn on the "indicate unsafe patchs" option in the viewer menu the OSC receive object is indicated - what does this mean? is it the cause of my problem? and how can I get around this?

Thanks - James
