since we're working on a lot of various artistic projects with arduino and interface them with qc we use processing and max/msp to "translate" the serial messages to osc. that works ok, but to be honest its not the most efficent way.
i also made some experiments with the command line plugin and a little c-programm called "arduino-serial" (http://todbot.com/blog/2006/12/06/arduino-serial-c-code-to-talk-to-arduino/ ). but that was even more inefficiant. didnt cost to much processor, but the viewer started to flicker. :-(
so i wonder if there is anybody on the list who is able (and likes) to write a simple plugin to read in serial-data via the serial.framework and pass it through to qc. it's not an urgent request, but would help to improve some things a lot.
