This should show you an example. Basically you just need to right click on the patch and set the timebase to external, and then control it with a stopwatch patch. The controller macro is just a system for controlling it with a keyboard that I find useful. Space is play/pause, and R is reset. Hope it helps.

I have to think there is a way to do this to key frame the movements without waiting for a full pass through every time an adjustment is made.
