I am using an Xserve running Mac OS X Server 10.4.9 with a ATI Radeon
X1300.
I want to render offscreen quartz compositions with embeded movies to
turn them into movies (H.264) and images.
I use a QCRenderer with an OpenGLContext and build the movie from
QCRenderer snapshots.
There is no display connected to the Xserve so the "System Profiler"
does not list any display.
The OpenGLContext and the QCRenderer are initialized correctly.
The rendering is ok with Quartz Compositions without embedded movies.
When rendering a Quartz Composition with a Movie, I get the following
error:
QTVisualContext creation failed (error -9459)
kQTVisualContextNotAllowedErr
meaning, according to the doc, that "a QuickTime visual context
cannot be used"
Moreover, when I launch the Quartz Debug app using Remote Desktop,
the "Enable Quartz Extreme" in the menu is not available.
I think the problem is that the machine can't initialize QT 7 visual
contexts, which Quartz Composer requires.
Is this assumption correct ?
Is there a way to enable Quartz Extreme and load QT 7 visual contexts
without a screen attached to the xserve ?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Fabien
