this may be something that can more easily be done with xcode, but
i'd like to know if it's possible to pipe a shell's output into a
quartz composition? if there were a way to tie applescript in, i
think that might do it as well, since you can now run shell script
from within applescript.
for instance, i imagine watching a log file for incoming http
requests, logins, etc. and making a nice display out of it.
