from what i've seen, vidvox's vdmx is the best-in-class in terms of multiple live inputs.

Hi Glen,

FYI, we just tried a ADVC 110 and an ADVC 55 on the same machine (mbp 17 Core duo, 10.5.2 ) and it work under QC, though it took a few tries to get it working.

Tried it in another program (NuVJ) and it didn't work, but this may be a limitation of that software...

There was previously a QuickTime restriction of multiple DV devices on a firewire bus. This was resolved in Leopard.

I currently have 2 ADVC-100's and one Sony DMC-DA1 running simultaneously, although the application is SecuritySpy, and not a QC composition.

However I can vouch for the fact that the QuickTime restriction has been addressed.

We are trying unsuccessfully to get two (or more) Canopus ADVC 110 video digitizers to work at the same time in Quartz Composer.

This thread

suggests that this may be a quicktime driver problem since the digitizers both ID with the same name? However, that was back in 2006, so I'm hoping things are different now.

Of note, System Profiler shows both devices with same name, but different GUIDs.

Anyone know if it's possible to get two (or more) of these devices working at once in QC?

If QC can't handle it, would it be possible to cook up a simple custom patch which does nothing but pull video input from a device specified by GUID?
