I am working on this composition (attached images4.qtz) and it keeps crashing. There are two folders of jpeg images the composition accesses and cycles through (which I have not included). I have tried putting those folders on different drives in case it was a drive issue but that did not help.I am wondering if there is a patch that is buggy or if the composition is just too complex or processor intensive. I am using some of the Kineme plugins.
You should list which ones; from the other reply, I'm guessing just speechsynthesis? There are bugs in Tiger's speech synthesis code that can't easily be worked around, if that's the cause (I think there's a workaround in the latest version, but you can still trip it up in certain uses). You should also try disabling parts of the composition to narrow down where it's crashing. A crash log would also be handy (esp if it's in one of our patches ;)
Complex or processor intensive compositions still shouldn't crash QC -- crashing is almost always a bug.
My CPU is an Intel Macbook Pro with 10.4.10 installed
QC on leopard is much better, you should really consider upgrading (I don't work for apple, and this is not a paid endorsement ;).
I don't boot into Tiger much anymore these days, but if you can supply a zip of some images and the composition so I can fire it up and test it, I'd be glad to give it a spin for you sometime in the next day or two. PM me if you choose to do so.
