Also make sure you are clicking on a part of the patch that accepts
clicks. There are times when I click on the title of a patch or a port
by mistake and that will not enter the macro.

Double clicking on them involves timing, and since QC isn't
multithreaded, really slow compositions will delay mouse click
events to macros far enough that they don't register as double
clicks. So even if you click fast enough, the UI is too slow to
realize what happened. If you stop/close the viewer, it should work
fine for every composition.
