Thanks Chrises for your responses. This is a relatively minor feature
of my app, not a show stopper. surprisingly most of what I'm doing
works well on the 950 and runs at reasonable speed. I guess I'll just
add a tech note that this is a limitation of the hardware. At least I
can move on now and stop worrying about it.
