Hi Steve.
That fixed it - many thanks.
FYI, the compositions are ultimately being used with body sensor data
using Arduino controllers and BlueTooth.

Ultimately, what I am doing in this "test" composition is being
incorporated into the main composition.

The composition is working but I have seen curious behaviour where
the movie is not updated in the QC output display for up to 10
seconds or longer. The movie file does appear to be "open" as the
duration has been obtained.
The way you have things currently set up, only the first movie is
going to start at the beginning; the subsequent movies will start at
a time offset into the movie.
The Movie Importer patch retrieves a frame from its specified movie,
according to its Time Base (right-click on the patch to see/edit
this). The Time Base is currently set to "Parent", which means it
will use the time provided by the containing patch --- in this case
your "Movie Selector" macro, which in turn gets its time from the
Root, whose time counts up from zero when the composition starts
running **and never resets**.
By switching the Time Base to External, and connecting the Stop
Watch's Time output to the new Patch Time input on the Movie
Importer, you can ensure that each movie starts at its respective
beginning.
