Aha, I've found that if you use a Clear patch, the letterboxes change to the patch's chosen colour. This is different to QC3 behaviour, where the letterboxes were always black regardless of any Clear patch colour setting, iirc.
Ahh, very interesting! :) good find. I wonder if that's documented anywhere? (it's a convenient feature for the cases when you want non- black letterboxes...
