I am running Quartz Composer 4.0 on an older mac book an am having difficulty running the opencl examples. I get an error of:
09:36:40.785 ["OpenCL Kernel" @ "Macro Patch"] > Initialization failed
Could this be because I do not have a opencl capable gpu on my laptop. I know opencl is capable of using the cpu as a compute devise so I am a bit puzzled. What is the system requirements for quartz composer 4?

There's a known bug in QC4 where CL kernels don't run on the CPU. So you need a CL-capable GPU to use CL in QC4. This cuts out all MacBooks, all MacBook Pros with ATI X1600s, iMacs with older ATI cards (prior to the HD4xxx line), and any Mac Mini with an intel GPU (either GMA950 or X3100, or any other intel GPU that may be kicking around out there).

There's a hidden preference trick to enable CL on the CPU, described here: https://kineme.net/Discussion/General/GotOpenCLworkingCPUQC
