I am not sure if I missed someone posting this, but by far the easiest
way of doing this is using the new applescript patch from dust.
http://kineme.net/composition/dust/AppleScriptPlugin
then it would be as easy as
tell application "whatever you fancy"
activate
end tell.
I use applescript a lot to automate art gallery installations and
interact between applications and this is a great quartz composer
plugin.
