Quick question re few patches, are those obsolete?
Functionally they're still there, replaced by substitutes as you
indicated at the end of your email. Whether the class itself still
exists is another matter, but it shouldn't matter in most cases (QC
will create the substitute you indicate transparently if you load a
composition that calls for one of those patches, so Tiger-created
stuff still works on post-Tiger systems).
They do not appear on [QCPatch patchNames] list and
[QCPatch createPatchWithName: ...] returns:
This is an SPI and should not be used to determine which patches are
actually available (it shouldn't be used for anything, really).

This is also an SPI and should not be used.
What are you trying to accomplish?
