Yup, 100% this works, providing you:
make an FBO, attach a texture to it, and verify your FBO is complete.
To render to your texture:
bind your fbo
reset your GL state matrices to identity and push them as needed.
render your QC renderer,
pop your matrixes,
unbind your fbo back to your normal context.
flush
your resulting texture is then able to be rendered to a screen aligned
quad (or, well, wherever).
