Thanks so much, vade. The boolean issue and the 25hz setting suggestion makes sense, except my tests started by troubleshooting intermittent problems using Plogue Bidule to send triggers to QC. The smoother was simply to have a graphic display of triggers sent from Bidule. (Then my tests just kinda ended up in the latest state.)
Bidule I guess would be subject to its buffer size (256 samples at 44100 sample rate), but I'm getting really inconsistent results with a single trigger in a simple test patch. Not to mention if I want to send other values from Bidule, what am I doing wrong in QC? Re: sending smoothed value -- I'm sure of little right now and please correct me -- I think of OSC as a good way to send triggers, gates, smaller packets of controller data, etc., but not so much continuous data streams. Within a test patch no big deal, but over a network less is best, right? My knowledge of OSC is limited...
