I never knew about disabling the background erasing (⌘+k), but I would
prefer to keep this enabled as the compositions will be running with
transparent backgrounds in their live environment. This should give me a
better prediction of what the performance will be like when live?

Just had a go at creating the same effect using the accumulator patch,
and successfully emulated the previous composition. I only did this using
one of the images though, and am slightly confused as to how I would create
the complete grid of images.
