Check you've got Clear patches at the top level, and inside every render in image, that helped some of my issues when I did some screensavers. That said, some of them still seemed to result in a screen full of glitch - I was doing some quite nasty things so I'm not sure if that was my doing or a bug in the screensaver stuff.
