Hi All,
If i use the composition importer patch to break up a large composition
does it produce any rendering overhead? ie does it
1) Add the imported compositions patches into the rendering graph or
2) Render the contents into a separate context (like a render in image)
and display this?
How is it different from using a Render In Image patch and how much of a
performance hit I will get? is it the same as an RII and will constantly
it be swapping data to/from the GPU mid frame?
I ask as getting some poor performance on a large composition and am
wondering how best to optimize it. It involves rendering a large
(2920x2080) dynamically composited background image which consists of 4
similar sized images. These all get fed through a core image filter
which works fine sometime but tends to chug at others - Check out the
0:58 min mark in the following video for the lag when I touch the icon -
apart from the large latency and bad fps during the CI filter transition
its fine from then on.
