Don't hold your breath, waiting for any "official statements" from Apple, regarding things they no longer care about.
It has been their "style", (or lack thereof) for many a year, to simply ignore certain things into obscurity. This seems to be an offshoot of Steve-o's "zen" idea of only thinking of the future. Nice ideal. Sucks for us folks trying to make a living. Perhaps with all that cash, they can afford to pay for a "continuation engineering" department??? Anyway, I liked the QC plugin, and made good use of it for sites that I knew would have Safari-based visitors.
