so awhile back, doe to the agust members of this group, I learned about the 'safevideo' plugin that allowed me to take a qtz. file that basically showed a full-screen live image from a input device (canopus, XLR8, matrox) make a quicktime movie that I could drop into keynote & play, showing the live video in a keynote presentation
I've done this several times since, with much success, on a couple movies & TV shows (think faking a live skype chat) anyway, today I had something funky happen... I was handed a MacbookAIR (which I must use) to do this gag with....I installed quartz & got a new xlr8 XtraView dongle....after some messing about, I got qtz to see the XtraView and make a quicktime...the quicktime plays fine, showing the video I'm now pumping into the dongle when I drop it into Keynote, it shows us, will play while in 'build' mode...BUT the second I hit 'play' on the keynote (to go full screen), the video blanks out HOWEVER, if I make ANOTEHR qtz, with the facetime camera as the source, and put that in the keynote & hit play, THAT shows up!...which is great, except I need to have the video coming INTO the Air so it can be the other half of our fake video chat! tried dropping the qtz into keynote...same thing....even made a qtz with both the USB video AND the facetime displayed...plays fine in QT, shows up in keynote & plays while in build mode, but as soon as I hit play on the keynote, the USB input video goes blank, leaving me with just the facetime feed pleasepleasepleaseplease, won't someone take pity on this poor soul & tell me I somehow missed the User Brightness Knob somewhere & that there's a fix for this? btw, the AIR is a C2D running 10.6.8 many thanks in advance M --------------------------------------------------------------- Michael Sime <frela...@videoschmideo.com> Video Schmideo! <www.videoschmideo.com> Visual Alchemy, LLC <www.visualalchemy.tv> --------------------------------------------------------------- It's not the time it takes to take the takes, it's the time it takes BETWEEN the takes, that takes the time to take the takes. --------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
