According to the Linux kernel Github page the BYD driver was added in the 4.6 release: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/tree/v4.6/drivers/input/mouse There are a few different drivers for the BYD mouse going around though--the one you used for Qubes bypasses the hardware multi-touch support for a (in my opinion better) software-based approach.
