Hi folks,

I'm trying to find out information on Whonix and it's operation and all.

Does Qubes use their Qubes-Tor-VM or is it the full blown Whonix?

If it's the later, then their documentation is out of date.

What I'm trying to find out is how the whonix gateway and workstation
actually work, and how they work with Qubes.

I don't know if you know the answer or anything about this, or whether it's
something that I just have to ask Whonix people directly, so I'll ask here
incase you can answer the questions.

Firstly, which one is it, Qubes-Tor-VM or Whonix?

..

How does the Gateway(GW) work?
Does it create a VPN to the Tor Network and through the Tor Network?
Does the Workstation(WS) connect through the Tor VPN that is already tor'd
to then use the browser to connect to the Tor network through the tor'd VPN?

Does the GW have to be the NIC, or can it be behind a NetVM?
If behind a NetVM does that give more security or less?

If the GW is behind a GW does that provide a VPN through a VPN for added
security?

How does Whonix make it secure? (detailed information wanted, even a
diagram?)

..

Is it possible to have a ProxyVM behind the GW to allow for multiple WS to
communicate through the 1 GW?
Or does the reduce security level?

Is it possible in the GW to determine what IP things are going to, and
direct local traffic to the local IP and NOT through TOR?

..

I have many more questions, but they are all hinging on the answers to
these questions and what I'm told about these questions.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
Drew.
