I am someone who thinks large OEM's should be forced to provide security updates for 5 years, and I use my computers for 10 so bear this in mind when I say that some forced updates are worth it and that we shouldn't entertain the idea that a PC without IOMMU is safe and should continue to be used. It has been available on power user devices for 5 years and you can get a laptop with it used for only $100.
