Some questions:

* Are you using Xfce4 (the default desktop environment in 3.2)?

* Have you reboot the machine before or after having this problem? In other 
words, was this the first reboot since installing? Does the problem persist 
across reboots?

* Did you do anything you can think of that might have triggered this problem? 
Any configuration changes?
