Hello, recently got my new laptop. It seems the HCL is already filled with
t450s reports, but here mine is nonetheless.

Firstly, I got TPM working and AEM seems to behave as I'd expect. I'm not sure
if Andrew got his AEM to work, but mine seems to do well. On that topic, does
anyone have any recommendations for fast USB bootsticks? My startup times are
at least a minute and 20 seconds...

When I purchased it, it came with 256gb SSD in the 2.5 inch drive slot. I
bought a transcend 256gb mts400 M.2 drive, which fits into the M.2 slot beside
my wireless card. Overall, the write speeds are a little slow (400MB/s) but the
SSD is mostly for reading and booting VMs, not keeping data.

On the topic of data, I got a 1TB hybrid drive from Seagate and put it in the
2.5 inch slot. I have no idea how this will work, but it wasn't much more than
a normal hard drive so I assumed it wouldn't hurt.

In general, 12GB of RAM is perfect for what I want to use this for. Separate
sys-net and sys-usb vms, VPN proxyvms and whonix gateways,
{bitcoin, signal, vault} vms, etc. With proper memory management (i.e. testing
and running `sudo top` and checking RAM usage, limiting the VMs) will probably
do wonders for this laptop.

There weren't any quirks with installing on this laptop. However, you do need
to set pci_strictreset to false for the USB vm to work.

`[user@dom0 ~]$ qvm-prefs sys-usb -s pci_strictreset false`
