Just received a new (to me) Dell Precision M4600. HCL reports perfect support
and that has been my experience thus far, just a few minor nits to report.

I let the machine run on battery today to see what condition its in - there is
an alert about low power at 20%, but below 8% the power meter disappears from
the Notification Area, and it does not reappear if wall power is connected. A
reboot put it back. I let it run down again, plugged wall power in once the
indicator disappeared, I've watched it for about fifteen minutes, indicator has
not returned despite it charging.

If you edit the Name & label for a VM there is a reference integrity issue -
the name gets connected to nothing, while the files are left on disk. If you
attempt to rename it back to the original name, the system complains about
pre-existing files. I guess regular users wouldn't make this mistake, but this
is the first time I've touched Qubes since 2.1, so I stumbled before recalling
I should just create new VMs from templates.

The installation of Windows 7 HVM worked as advertised, specifically REQUIRING
multiple manual starts to finish the process. Network device was missing at
first, it turned up a reboot or two after I expected to see it. Graphics
performance is shaky, feels like a late 90s 486 class machine. This makes me
sad, would be great to not have to fiddle with dual boot.

My motivation for this was trying to build a system for investigative work -
Chrome /w Hunch.ly, Maltego, and Sentinel Visualizer running under Windows 7.
Poor Win7 performance and badly behaved Java for Linux VMs put this out of
reach, but there are many other things I can do with Qubes. This machine will
end up dual booting Qubes/Windows, as soon as I can afford an msata disk for
the internal slot.
