Actually, I think I may have found another way to address this in the
kernel (basically, disabling power management in the Intel wifi driver,
since the general consensus is that it's still buggy and everyone on
other distros with this problem have addressed it by blacklisting the
module like in the link above).

It'll be in my 4.9.29 pull request (still waiting for a bit more
feedback on the 4.9 kernel in general in case there are other things I
might be able to address, but if there's nothing else, I'll probably
send that PR later today after I finish testing a few other things), but
if you need an immediate fix, try the tip above or place

iwlmvm iwlwifi

in /rw/config/suspend-module-blacklist in your sys-net VM.
