If not, maybe I'll go with the 7750 or > similar, since you know for sure that that works. 4.9 is very likely to support the rx 550 (since support for most other Polaris cards was also added/improved in 4.9), but I can't find anything definitive (and the Rx 550 is actually the latest Polaris card in the lineup), so the 7750 is probably a safer bet, if returning the 550 is non-trivial.
