Gaiko, did you get this to work? I have the exact same experience. And placing the files in /usr/share/applications did not help. When running "desktop-file-validate browser_vm.desktop" from ~/. I get "file does not exist". From ~/.local/share/applications I get 'browser_vm.desktop: warning: key "Encoding" in group "Desktop Entry" is deprecated', similar to you. Thanks.
