Updating the unsolicited feedback with more information; I found that other people have had troubles with fonts and upgrading fc25 -> fc26 (i.e. https://utcc.utoronto.ca/~cks/space/blog/linux/Fedora26FontDilemma), and I'm working to understand what happened to my configurations.
