After a couple days of failure, I was able to find out the root cause of this 
problem and resolve it. Using alsa-info.sh script I was able to extract my 
sound card's subsystem ID as 8086:a348. It turned out that this sound card is 
not supported by Linux kernel 4.14 (which is used by dom0). So, using 
qubes-builder repository, I compiled Linux kernel 4.19 from stable-4.19 branch, 
and after a reboot, everything worked just fine. According to the following 
links, supporting this card has been added to Linux kernel version 4.17:
