I've previously posted this to qubes-issues on GitHub without much success.
When I boot the Qubes 4.0.1 image written with Rufus in UEFI mode, it boots
but afterwards gets a black screen. This is the output before:

Simplest fix would be to go into your machine's UEFI config and disable
SMT/Hyperthreading.
