That's true, but using a pruned bitcoind will limit its usefulness as a backend for other software (eg. electrum servers, block explorers). Unfortunately I don't have a lot of extra time/motivation currently to make sweeping changes like that. That's why my btcpayserver branch hasn't been worked on since November. It's nice to know that someone somewhere is paying attention to work I've done with these.
