Issue 437: Limited search capability for user manual
http://code.google.com/p/qubit-toolkit/issues/detail?id=437
New issue report by epmclellan:
Users may find it difficult to search for information in the User Manual
using Google's wiki search functionality because search results do not
appear to be ranked very well, there is no way to limit a search just to
the User Manual, there is no documentation on how to use the search or how
the default search functions (i.e. users won't know whether it's an AND or
an OR search), etc. I could add documentation to the wiki on how to use the
search functionality, but maybe we could user a better search engine for
the ICA-AtoM wiki.
Some examples of search problems:
''exit edit mode'' returns 7 results, with the wiki page entitled Exit edit
mode 6th on the list. Adding quotation marks didn't change the results.
''storage location'' returns pages where the two words are not next to each
other above pages where they are. Adding quotation marks changed the
results so that the most relevant page did come out on top.
''"edit taxonomies (terms)"'' returns no hits, even though there is a wiki
page with that name. Taking the quotation marks away results in the
relevant page being listed 5th in results.
