The auto-complete widget, e.g. as used in the data entry templates for
entering taxonomy terms, is not intuitive. It is not immediately clear that
only the first 10 entries are being returned. While this information has in
some cases been added to the help text (e.g. type in a few characters to
search for existing terms), this needs to be done separately for each
occurrence of the widget. Also, in the proposed advanced search being
contributed from the Sask development, the auto-complete widget is used to
limit by repository and media type (so user training would not apply in
that case).
I'm wondering if there's a way to build in help text to the widget itself,
e.g. showing first 10 matching entries; start typing to narrow selection.
